Maintenance Technician – Christchurch Depot

About the role

NZ Post is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join its Christchurch depot team. You will work with cutting‑edge automated parcel processing equipment, ensuring reliable operation and supporting the company’s mission to deliver mail and parcels across New Zealand.

Key responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair parcel and letter sorting machinery.
• Perform fault finding, corrective repairs and scheduled preventative maintenance.
• Ensure equipment meets operational standards and safety requirements.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to minimise downtime and improve system reliability.

Required profile

• 2+ years experience as an electrical or mechanical technician, maintenance engineer or service electrician.
• Either a New Zealand Electrical Registration or Electrical Service Technician Registration (papers A & B) OR a Mechanical Engineering qualification.
• Ability to work a 4‑week rotational roster covering day, afternoon, night and weekend shifts.
• Positive, flexible attitude and calm, logical problem‑solving under pressure.
