Maintenance Coordinator – Part‑time (16 hrs/week)

About the role

We are looking for a part‑time Maintenance Coordinator to join our Karina Lifecare team in Palmerston North. Working 16 hours per week on AM shifts, you will help keep our 37‑bed care home safe, clean and welcoming for residents.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine preventative maintenance across the building.
• Carry out minor building repairs, painting, plumbing and carpentry tasks.
• Maintain the exterior of the property and surrounding grounds.
• Prioritise and schedule maintenance work to minimise disruption.
• Collaborate with the Care Home Manager to ensure resident safety and compliance.

Required profile

• Experience with general maintenance tasks (painting, plumbing, minor carpentry) preferred but not essential.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and time‑management skills.
• Empathetic, customer‑focused attitude and a genuine love for helping people.
• Full clean driver’s licence.
