Maintenance Coordinator

About the role

Heritage Lifecare is seeking a full‑time Maintenance Coordinator to join its care home in Papanui, Christchurch. This permanent position works AM shifts (32 + hours per week) and offers the chance to keep a residential environment safe, clean and welcoming for our residents.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine preventative maintenance across the building and grounds.
• Carry out building repairs, including painting, plumbing and minor carpentry tasks.
• Maintain the exterior of the property and surrounding outdoor areas.
• Collaborate with the Care Home Manager to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
• Prioritise work orders, manage supplies and keep accurate maintenance records.

Required profile

• Experience in general maintenance or a willingness to learn on the job.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong interpersonal skills with empathy and a customer‑service mindset.
• Good communication, time‑management and organisational abilities.
• Valid clean driver’s licence.
