Maintainer Operator – Manufacturing (Rotating Shifts)

About the role

Laminex Taupō is looking for a Maintainer Operator to join its manufacturing team. This hands‑on position involves operating, setting up and maintaining plant equipment to keep production safe and efficient. The role works on a rotating shift pattern of four days on, four days off, including day and night shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Operate, set up and maintain plant machinery in a wood‑based manufacturing environment.
• Set machine parameters, monitor performance and make real‑time adjustments.
• Support quality checks, troubleshoot equipment issues and perform minor repairs.
• Conduct forklift operations and assist with material handling.
• Adhere to health, safety and quality standards while working at heights and in confined spaces.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years experience as a Maintainer Operator in manufacturing (wood‑based preferred).
• Physically fit, able to work at heights and in confined spaces.
• Class 1 full driver’s licence; OSH forklift licence advantageous.
• Electrical or mechanical trade qualification desirable but not essential.
• Willingness to undergo pre‑employment medical testing and criminal history clearance.

• Navigation of digital control systems.
• Problem‑solving and ability to learn new processes quickly.
