Machine Operator

About the role

This is a hands‑on, full‑time position operating advanced steel processing equipment in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment in Auckland. You will run our state‑of‑the‑art coil slitting line on the night shift, ensuring safe and efficient production of steel components for the construction industry.

Key responsibilities

• Operate the coil slitting line, measuring and cutting steel to precise specifications.
• Perform quality checks, bundle and package finished orders.
• Receive inbound goods, pick and dispatch orders, and carry out general warehouse duties.
• Operate forklift and crane for material handling.
• Troubleshoot minor machine issues and contribute to process optimisation and housekeeping.
• Collaborate with production team, supervisors and drivers to meet delivery targets.

Required profile

• Experience operating a coil slitting line.
• Physically fit and able to perform manual work safely.
• Strong commitment to health and safety procedures.
• Reliable self‑starter with good attendance record.
• Fluent in English (read, write, communicate).
• NZ residency or valid NZ work visa.

Required skills

• Coil slitting line operation.
• Forklift operation (ticket advantageous).
• Crane operation (ticket advantageous).
• Basic machine troubleshooting.
