About the role
Join Auckland Libraries as a Library and Council Services Assistant, primarily based at Papatoetoe Library. You will work in a vibrant community setting, providing front‑line support for library and council services while helping deliver programmes, events, and digital assistance.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional customer service to library patrons and council service users.
- Assist with the delivery of library programmes, events, and community activities.
- Provide support for digital and technology queries, helping customers use online resources.
- Contribute to the smooth day‑to‑day operation of the library, including opening, closing, and shelf management.
- Work flexibly across other libraries within the Ōtara‑Papatoetoe Local Board as required, including evenings and weekends.
Required profile
- Passionate about delivering outstanding customer service.
- Adaptable, eager to learn new skills, and comfortable in a busy community environment.
- Enjoy working with children and supporting library programmes.
- Ability to connect with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds; Pacific language skills are a plus.
