Libraries Team Manager – Kaipara District Council

About the role

Lead the future of library services across Kaipara as the Libraries Team Manager. Based in Dargaville, you will oversee the district's largest library, support Mangawhai Library and collaborate with volunteer‑led community libraries.

Key responsibilities

• Lead library service planning and delivery across Kaipara.
• Manage Dargaville Library operations and support district‑wide services.
• Build strong relationships with schools, community groups and stakeholders.
• Support and develop staff in a collaborative team environment.
• Drive innovation, digital services and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Strong library experience and a passion for community service.
• A relevant library qualification and LIANZA Professional Registration, or eligibility to obtain it.
• Experience leading, supervising, mentoring or coordinating people, projects or services.
• Experience with Library Management Systems and digital library services.
• Strong relationship‑building skills and a commitment to serving diverse communities.
• Ability to manage budgets, support change and improve services.
• Flexibility to work Monday to Saturday as required.
