About the role
The Public Defence Service is seeking an entry‑level Legal Support Assistant for a 12‑month fixed‑term contract in Manukau. You will join a busy legal team, providing administrative support to legal secretaries and helping clients navigate criminal law matters.
Key responsibilities
- Assist legal secretaries and support the office with day‑to‑day tasks.
- Set up client files and collate legal documents.
- Process client disclosures and manage related paperwork.
- Cover reception duties and perform general office administration.
Required profile
- Some experience in a customer‑focused professional environment.
- Experience with general office administration tasks.
- Interest in criminal law and a desire to build a career in the legal sector.
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy, team‑oriented setting.
