Lecturer / Senior Lecturer - Economics

About the role

The University of Auckland Business School is seeking a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Economics. The appointment is full-time (40 hours per week) and permanent, with continuation (tenure) based on performance in research, teaching and service. Candidates are invited from any field, with particular interest in Econometrics (theoretical and applied) and International Trade.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver research-informed teaching to undergraduate and postgraduate students, at introductory levels more widely, using a variety of methods and learning technologies
• Build a research programme that complements and extends the department's existing strengths
• Publish research and supervise research students
• Seek research funding and engage with professional, academic and non-academic stakeholders
• Contribute to departmental service and collaborate flexibly within and beyond the department

Required profile

• PhD (or near completion) with demonstrated excellence in research
• Strong research potential and a commitment to high-quality, research-informed teaching
• Ability to teach at undergraduate and postgraduate levels

What we offer

• Salary of $99,788 to $119,204 for Lecturers and $126,800 to $158,900 for Senior Lecturers, depending on qualifications and experience
