Lecturer – Paramedicine (Kaiwhakaako)

About the role

The Paramedicine Department at AUT seeks two full‑time Lecturers (Kaiwhakaako) on a one‑year fixed‑term contract. You will translate real‑world paramedicine experience into engaging, evidence‑based teaching that prepares students for the clinical, ethical and decision‑making demands of pre‑hospital care.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lectures, workshops and simulation sessions across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
• Mentor and assess students, supporting their development toward safe, competent, reflective practice.
• Contribute to curriculum design, course development and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Utilise digital resources and innovative teaching methods to enhance learning.
• Conduct pedagogical research and maintain industry relevance through external collaborations.

Required profile

• Relevant paramedicine or pre‑hospital care experience.
• Demonstrated ability to teach and assess students in academic and simulation environments.
• Commitment to culturally safe, equitable and evidence‑informed education.
• Willingness to engage with industry partners and professional bodies.
