Lecturer – Paramedicine (Full‑time)

About the role

We are seeking a full‑time Lecturer in Paramedicine to join the Department of Paramedicine at Auckland University of Technology’s South Campus. The successful candidate will translate real‑world paramedic experience into evidence‑based teaching, mentor students in both academic and simulation environments, and contribute to the ongoing development of the programme.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver undergraduate and postgraduate teaching across assigned programmes, using digital resources to enhance learning.
• Design, review and update curriculum and course materials in line with professional standards.
• Mentor, assess and support students to develop safe, competent and reflective practice.
• Conduct and publish research in specialised areas of paramedicine.
• Seek external research funding and build collaborations with government, industry and professional bodies.
• Participate in departmental and faculty service activities.

Required profile

• Relevant academic qualifications and professional experience in paramedicine.
• Demonstrated ability to teach and assess students in health‑related programmes.
• Experience with simulation‑based education and digital learning tools.
• Track record of scholarly activity and publication.
• Willingness to engage with external partners and contribute to research funding initiatives.
