Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Marketing (Full‑time)

About the role

The University of Otago invites applications for a permanent, full‑time Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Marketing. The successful candidate will join a research‑intensive, student‑focused department and contribute to teaching, research, and service across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess a range of marketing courses, ensuring curriculum relevance and quality.
• Develop and update marketing curricula in line with industry trends.
• Supervise postgraduate students, including Masters, PhD and DBA candidates.
• Maintain an active research agenda with a focus on publishing in top academic journals.
• Seek and secure external research funding.
• Engage with industry partners to enrich student learning experiences.

Required profile

• PhD in Marketing or a closely related discipline.
• Demonstrated potential for high‑quality publications in leading journals.
• Strong commitment to obtaining external research funding.
• Proven experience teaching marketing at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
• Willingness to collaborate with industry and uphold university values, tikanga and kawa.
