About the role

Join a high‑performing, research‑intensive team at the School of Science. You will lead original research in hydrology while contributing to teaching, postgraduate supervision and departmental administration.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct independent, high‑quality research in hydrology.
• Teach hydrology and environmental science to undergraduate and master’s students.
• Supervise Honours, Masters and PhD candidates.
• Contribute to the graduate programme and attract research funding.
• Participate in departmental administration and service activities.

Required profile

• PhD in hydrology or a closely related discipline.
• Strong record of peer‑reviewed research publications.
• Demonstrated tertiary‑level teaching experience and commitment to innovative learning.
• Ability to supervise graduate students and secure external research funding.
• Effective communication skills and respect for diverse cultural backgrounds.
• Awareness of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches to teaching.
