About the role
The School of Psychology at the University of Waikato is seeking a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer to join its Behaviour Analysis programme. The successful candidate will contribute to teaching, postgraduate supervision and academic administration while advancing research and community engagement.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver undergraduate and postgraduate courses in behaviour analysis and related specialisms.
- Supervise honours, masters and doctoral research students.
- Participate in departmental governance and curriculum development.
- Maintain an active research agenda, publish scholarly work and seek external funding.
- Engage with professional bodies, iwi and community partners relevant to the discipline.
Required profile
- PhD in psychology or a closely related field (or nearing completion).
- Strong foundational knowledge of behaviour analysis with expertise in areas such as environmental psychology, applied animal behaviour, third‑wave behaviour analysis or organisational behaviour management.
- For senior appointments: established research record, peer‑reviewed publications, successful grant acquisition and experience supervising high‑quality research students.
- Commitment to the university’s partnership with Māori, the Treaty of Waitangi principles and a culture of equity and excellence.
Required skills
- Deep understanding of behaviour analysis theory and methods.
- Ability to design and deliver innovative teaching, including online and distance learning.
- Effective collaboration and organisational skills within a diverse academic environment.
What we offer
- Competitive salary ranging from NZ$92,603 to NZ$148,799 per year, dependent on appointment level.
- Full‑time permanent position (37.5 hours per week) on the Tauranga campus.
