Lecturer in Paramedicine (Full‑time, Permanent)

About the role

Auckland University of Technology is seeking a permanent, full‑time Lecturer in Paramedicine to join its South Campus. The role bridges real‑world paramedic practice with evidence‑based education, preparing students for the clinical, ethical and decision‑making challenges of pre‑hospital care.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver undergraduate and postgraduate paramedicine courses, including face‑to‑face and digital learning components.
• Mentor and assess students in academic and simulation settings, fostering safe and reflective practice.
• Contribute to curriculum development, scholarship, and industry collaboration to keep the programme current and aligned with professional standards.
• Maintain an active research agenda, publish in specialised fields, and seek external research funding.
• Participate in departmental service, committees and community engagement initiatives.

Required profile

• Relevant postgraduate qualification (e.g., PhD, Masters) in paramedicine, emergency health or a closely related discipline.
• Significant professional experience in paramedic practice and a demonstrated commitment to teaching.
• Evidence of scholarly activity, including peer‑reviewed publications and research funding experience.
• Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary academic environment.
