About the role
The School of Psychological and Social Sciences is seeking a Lecturer in Criminology to join a vibrant, interdisciplinary community. The role involves teaching, postgraduate supervision, research, and service to professional and community partners.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver undergraduate and postgraduate courses in criminology, including curriculum development.
- Supervise student research projects and theses.
- Maintain and develop an active research programme with publications and scholarly engagement.
- Contribute to administrative duties, programme coordination, and community/ iwi engagement.
- Participate in academic governance and collaborative initiatives within the school.
Required profile
- PhD in Criminology or a closely related discipline (completed or near completion).
- Evidence of research capability through publications and scholarly activity.
- Demonstrated enthusiasm for high‑quality teaching and student supervision.
- Ability to teach a range of criminology topics and develop innovative delivery methods.
- Collaborative, organised, and committed to service and community engagement.
Required skills
What we offer
- Competitive salary range of $92,603–$110,407 per year.
- Full‑time (37.5 hours/week) position based at Hamilton or Tauranga campus.
