Learning & Development Trainer

About the role

This role designs and delivers high‑quality learning solutions to build sustainable operational capability within nib’s insurance business. Working closely with the Capability and Quality Lead, you will apply adult learning methodologies to create practical, engaging training that aligns with performance data, learner needs, and business priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct needs analysis, design learning interventions and evaluate their impact.
• Develop and deliver new‑starter inductions, technical onboarding, cross‑skilling and upskilling programmes.
• Create digital learning assets that are scalable and accessible.
• Identify capability gaps using data and stakeholder insights and refine solutions accordingly.
• Support continuous improvement of training to drive performance outcomes.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of the insurance or financial services sector, including experience in regulated environments.
• Proven experience in training, capability development or instructional design roles.
• Ability to apply structured learning frameworks and adult learning principles to diverse audiences.
• Experience delivering structured training and induction programmes.

Required skills

• Proficiency with learning authoring tools such as Kando, Canva and Articulate 360.
• Experience using Learning Management Systems (LMS).
• Relevant qualification or certification in adult learning or instructional design.
• Advanced use of contact‑centre technology and CRM platforms for training and reporting.
• Familiarity with LEAP or other customer‑service methodologies (desired).
• Analytical and data‑reporting skills (desired).
