Learning Coordinator

About the role

Downer is looking for a Learning Coordinator to join its Transport & Infrastructure Training & Compliance team. You will manage the end‑to‑end administration of a range of learning programmes across New Zealand, ensuring that teams have the skills and knowledge they need to deliver high‑quality services.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate training delivery, upload content and provide support to T&I teams nationwide.
• Collaborate with a geographically dispersed team to maintain compliance and capability.
• Uphold Downer’s standards in all internal and external stakeholder interactions.
• Manage purchase orders, invoice receipting and onboarding of vendors into finance systems.
• Assist managers in tracking and maintaining team skills and competencies.
• Maintain and update the Learning Management System (LMS) proactively.

Required profile

• Strong organisational and time‑management abilities, able to juggle multiple priorities under pressure.
• Comfortable working with data, reporting and spreadsheets.
• Experience in a busy administrative or coordination role with high accuracy.
• Understanding of learning and training administration, including LMS usage.
• Good problem‑solving skills and calmness when priorities shift.
• Effective communication and relationship‑building skills across New Zealand.
• Collaborative mindset and ability to work independently.

Required skills

• Intermediate to advanced Excel.
• Experience with Learning Management Systems.
