Lead Experience Designer

About the role

AKQA’s Experience Design discipline is looking for a Lead Experience Designer to imagine and shape the next generation of digital experiences for global brands. You will work in a hybrid environment, collaborating with strategists, visual designers, UX architects, and researchers to deliver intuitive, engaging, and emotionally resonant products.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and guide a team of Experience Designers to create impactful digital experiences.
• Maintain high design standards, ensuring quality and attention to detail across all outputs.
• Translate brand strategy and user insights into clear design solutions for web, mobile, and emerging platforms.
• Develop and evolve design systems, component libraries, and guidelines for scalable experiences.
• Collaborate closely with strategists, technologists, and delivery teams to ensure ideas are practical and well‑executed.
• Mentor designers, provide constructive feedback, and support talent growth.
• Present design thinking confidently to clients and internal stakeholders.

Required profile

• A strong portfolio demonstrating high‑quality experience design across digital products and platforms.
• Solid product design experience from UX architecture to refined visual interface design.
• Proven experience leading designers on complex digital projects.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence stakeholders.
• Strong visual design sensibility across layout, hierarchy, colour, motion, and typography.
• Passion for design culture, creativity, and continuous innovation.

Required skills

• Proficiency in modern design tools such as Figma and other collaborative design platforms.
