Lead Architect – Microsoft Dynamics 365

About the role

The Lead Architect will shape the technology architecture for a broad Microsoft environment, supporting a business‑critical roadmap. Based in Morrinsville, the role combines hands‑on design with strategic guidance, working two days per week on site and remotely the rest of the time.

Key responsibilities

• Define and drive architecture direction across the entire technology stack.
• Review, author, and influence solution designs and technical standards.
• Support feasibility studies, concept development, and business case creation.
• Provide design leadership for projects and programmes.
• Lead continuous improvement, rationalisation, and technology modernisation initiatives.
• Guide internal and third‑party teams with clear technical direction.
• Design robust, supportable, and sustainable software and integration solutions.
• Contribute to technical strategy, product direction, and architecture best practices.

Required profile

• Strong experience designing Microsoft‑based solutions, especially Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations.
• Significant Azure architecture experience and understanding of SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS principles.
• Proficiency with integration technologies such as JSON, XML, SOAP, REST APIs, ETL, and Azure integration services.
• Ability to influence stakeholders and collaborate across technical and business teams.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
• Experience working within governance, delivery, and risk frameworks.
