Law Clerk – Litigation (2027) – Wellington

About the role

Russell McVeagh is seeking a law graduate to join its 2027 Litigation Law Clerk programme in Wellington. You will work alongside leading lawyers on high‑profile disputes and receive structured support as you transition from university to professional practice.

Key responsibilities

• Assist senior lawyers on complex commercial and litigation matters, including cross‑border, class actions, construction and insolvency cases.
• Participate in a comprehensive 12‑month induction and development programme.
• Conduct legal research, draft documents and support case preparation.
• Engage with a network of peers and senior counsel for mentorship and collaboration.

Required profile

• In the final year of a law degree, graduating by the end of 2026.
• Strong interest in commercial law and litigation.
• Excellent academic record.
• Drive, ambition and a positive attitude.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
