Laboratory Technician – Animal Health

About the role
LIC is seeking a full‑time Laboratory Technician to join its Animal Health Lab Team in New Zealand. The role is based at the Riverlea Road site and supports testing of bovine and caprine samples for the dairy sector.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare a variety of bovine and caprine samples for laboratory analysis.
- Perform PCR and ELISA testing and report results accurately.
- Implement and maintain ISO 17025 quality standards across all laboratory practices.
- Collaborate with other teams to ensure smooth workflow in a high‑throughput environment.
Required profile
- Experience working in a commercial laboratory, preferably under ISO 17025.
- Hands‑on experience with PCR and ELISA techniques.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills and confidence using computer software.
- Motivated, flexible and able to thrive in a fast‑paced setting.
