Junior Mechanical Maintenance Technician (Shift)

About the role

We are seeking a Junior Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join our team at Auckland Airport. The role involves operating, maintaining and repairing baggage conveyor systems in line with service level agreements, on a rotating shift schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Operate the baggage handling system according to design specifications and SLA requirements.
• Perform preventive and reactive maintenance tasks on conveyor equipment.
• Accurately record maintenance activities and service reports.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues and implement corrective actions.
• Work on a rotating shift pattern (2 am‑2 pm and 2 pm‑2 am).

Required profile

• Relevant experience in an industrial environment.
• Valid full driver’s licence.
• Ability to work shift patterns and on‑site at the airport.
• Strong communication skills and a team‑oriented attitude.

Required skills

• Elevated work platform licence (preferred).
• Welding experience (preferred).
• Maintenance of mechanical conveyor systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot and solve mechanical problems.
