Junior Data Scientist

About the role

Quantumoo is seeking a Junior Data Scientist to join its applied AI team. You will work on retail‑focused data projects, turning complex datasets into actionable insights and scalable AI solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret business requirements and apply statistical modeling, data mining, and machine learning techniques to solve real‑world problems.
• Analyze transaction, CRM, store and product data from the retail, restaurant and e‑commerce sectors.
• Design and implement algorithms such as recommendation systems, dynamic pricing, ad targeting and sales forecasting.
• Manage the full model lifecycle: development, evaluation, deployment, monitoring and optimisation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering or a related quantitative field.
• Strong theoretical foundation in statistics and machine learning, with hands‑on experience in data‑mining and deep‑learning projects.
• Fluent written and spoken communication in both English and Mandarin.
• Self‑driven, curious and eager to learn new technologies.

Required skills

• Proficient in Python for data processing, feature engineering and model development.
• Experience with version control using Git.
• Knowledge of algorithms and techniques such as SVD, PCA, LDA, XGBoost, LightGBM, RNN and LSTM.
• Familiarity with big‑data platforms like Spark, Hive, Clickhouse or Flink (a plus).
