Joiner & CNC Operator

About the role

PlyLab is seeking a skilled Joiner who is passionate about precision woodworking and CNC machining. You will work in a fast‑paced workshop building high‑quality plywood kitchens and furniture for the New Zealand market.

Key responsibilities

• Operate HOMAG CNC machines to cut and shape components.
• Assemble cabinets, apply finishes, and ensure fit‑and‑finish standards.
• Perform quality control checks and troubleshoot any issues.
• Maintain workshop organisation using 3S principles.
• Provide installation support when required.
• Identify and implement continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• NZ manual driver licence (able to drive a long‑wheel‑base manual van).
• Experience in cabinetmaking, joinery or related woodworking.
• Strong attention to detail and a methodical work approach.
• Positive attitude, willingness to learn and take ownership.

Required skills

• HOMAG CNC operation.
• WoodWOP or IMOS software (advantageous, not essential).
• CNC machining.
• Cabinet assembly and finishing.
• Quality control and problem‑solving.
• Workshop organisation and 3S.
• Installation support.
• Continuous improvement of processes.
