Intermediate/Senior Structural Engineer – Buildings

About the role

Join Aurecon's Buildings Structures team in Wellington as an Intermediate/Senior Structural Engineer. You will work on a diverse portfolio of building projects, providing design, seismic assessment, and construction support across the lower North Island.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and deliver structural design for townhouses, apartments, hospitals, schools, offices, and industrial facilities.
• Conduct seismic assessments and develop seismic upgrade solutions for regional projects.
• Support construction monitoring, address design queries, and manage contractor interactions.
• Collaborate with clients, councils, contractors, external design partners, and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Mentor junior engineers and ensure delivery quality.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering or a related discipline.
• Consultancy experience in structural engineering, preferably in building design, seismic assessment, or seismic upgrades.
• Strong technical capability, analytical rigour, and sound engineering judgement.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder liaison.
• Collaborative mindset with a passion for solving complex problems.
