Intermediate/Senior Business Advisory Consultant

About the role

Deloitte New Zealand is seeking an intermediate to senior consultant to join its Tax and Business Advisory team. You will work closely with small to medium enterprises, providing strategic advice on accounting, tax, and business operations.

Key responsibilities

• Advise clients on a wide range of business and tax matters, including transaction work, strategy, and domestic/international tax.
• Prepare financial statements, income tax returns, and support clients in managing ongoing tax obligations.
• Develop management accounts, forecasts, and budgets to help clients achieve their objectives.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key client contacts.
• Contribute to team culture by acting as a role model and recognising colleagues' contributions.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience in accounting and/or tax.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
• Progressing towards or holding a CA/CPA qualification.
• Strong analytical mindset and excellent communication skills.
• Self‑starter with a collaborative attitude.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Xero accounting software.
