About the role
Russell McVeagh is seeking an experienced banking and finance solicitor to join its leading team in Auckland. The role offers the chance to work on complex financing transactions for both borrowers and lenders across a range of industries.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to acquisition and leveraged finance deals.
- Handle real estate finance, syndicated and club lending, structured finance, and debt capital markets.
- Advise borrowers such as private‑equity sponsors, portfolio companies, and large corporates.
- Represent lenders including banks, credit funds, and non‑bank lenders.
- Collaborate with senior lawyers and provide high‑quality legal advice.
Required profile
- Minimum 4 years of experience in banking and finance law, either in New Zealand or overseas.
- Demonstrated ability to take a key role in transactions.
- Strong collaborative mindset and commercial acumen.
- Excellent technical and commercial abilities.
