About the role
DXC Technology is seeking an Intermediate IT Project Manager to lead application‑focused initiatives for government clients in Wellington. The role involves planning, coordinating and delivering projects from initiation through implementation and hand‑over, working closely with business and technical stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
- Support end‑to‑end delivery of IT projects that improve government services.
- Define scope, requirements and deliverables with business and technical teams.
- Track progress, manage risks and issues, and support change control processes.
- Assist with budget tracking, resource planning and vendor coordination.
- Prepare clear, concise project reports for governance forums and senior stakeholders.
- Ensure project documentation is accurate, complete and audit‑ready.
- Contribute ideas to improve project delivery across the organisation.
Required profile
- Minimum 4 years experience managing IT projects, preferably in an applications or digital environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, business or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience working in or with government or regulated environments is desirable.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Proactive, organised and solutions‑focused approach.
Required skills
- Project Management methodologies: Waterfall, Agile or Hybrid delivery.
- IT applications delivery.
