Interior Designer

About the role

Unispace is seeking an Interior Designer to join its Christchurch studio and contribute to leading workplace projects for global brands and fast‑growing businesses. The role goes beyond producing drawings – you will lead conversations, influence clients, shape concepts and own projects from strategy through to delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Lead exceptional workplace and commercial interior projects from concept through construction.
• Develop compelling design narratives and innovative workplace strategies.
• Present concepts confidently to clients and senior stakeholders.
• Build strong client relationships and act as a trusted advisor throughout the project lifecycle.
• Facilitate workshops, presentations and design reviews.
• Collaborate with design, construction, delivery and business development teams, as well as external consultants (MEP, lighting, AV, landscape, structural).
• Mentor junior designers and foster a culture of creativity and design excellence.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering workplace, commercial or corporate interior projects.
• Strong design leadership and client‑facing capability.
• Excellent concept development, space planning and storytelling skills.
• Experience producing and reviewing detailed construction documentation.
• Outstanding communication and presentation abilities.
• A passion for creating workplaces that are both beautiful and commercially effective.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Revit and associated design tools.
