Integrated Operations Engineer II

About the role

Rocket Lab is seeking an Integrated Operations Engineer II to support the testing, launch and on‑orbit operations of its Electron launch vehicle and Photon missions. The role works across multiple sites, including Auckland Mission Control, Mahia launch complex and Wallops Island, and involves hands‑on execution of test and launch procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and conduct test, pre‑launch and launch operations for Electron and Photon missions.
• Define test and operational requirements and develop detailed procedures.
• Execute on‑console testing while maintaining real‑time situational awareness and communications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues during testing and launch in real time.
• Lead failure investigations, perform root‑cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Review post‑test and post‑flight data and generate analysis reports.
• Continuously improve integration, testing and operational processes.
• Travel domestically and internationally as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 1–2 years of engineering experience in a test, launch or operations environment.
