Industrial Electrical Tradesperson – Tiwai Point

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Electrical Tradesperson to join our Tiwai Point team at NZAS. You will be responsible for maintaining and repairing critical electrical equipment in a world‑class aluminium smelter, ensuring reliable operation and a strong safety culture.

Key responsibilities

• Perform planned, scheduled and breakdown maintenance on plant and workshop electrical equipment.
• Diagnose and repair cranes, machinery and industrial electrical systems.
• Mentor apprentices and support skill development within the team.
• Deliver high‑quality repair work within production timeframes.
• Promote a safety‑first, team‑oriented environment.

Required profile

• Registered Electrician with a current practising licence (or transferable Australian qualification).
• Proven experience in industrial, mining or heavy‑process environments.
• Advanced fault‑finding and diagnostic capability.
• Experience working with large‑scale plant and production equipment.
• Ability to mentor others and contribute to a high‑performing team.
