In-training Kaiako – Early Childhood Educator

About the role
We are looking for a passionate in‑training Kaiako to join our vibrant early childhood team at Te Ako o te Tui. The role is based primarily in the over‑2s classroom but may involve supporting children from 3 months to 6 years as needed.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver high‑quality, intentional teaching experiences for tamariki across the age range.
- Assist with planning, assessment and compliance in line with Te Whāriki.
- Work collaboratively with the teaching team to maintain excellent teacher‑child ratios and a safe, stimulating environment.
- Support the diverse needs of families and whānau, fostering inclusive relationships.
- Participate in professional development and contribute positively to team culture.
Required profile
- Enrolled with a New Zealand early childhood education training provider.
- Enthusiastic, reflective and committed to ongoing learning.
- Strong belief in diversity, inclusion and building a sense of belonging.
- Emerging understanding of pedagogical practice, including Te Whāriki.
- Willingness to work flexible rostered shifts to accommodate study commitments.
