Improvement Engineer – Animal Health Manufacturing

About the role

Join a leading global animal health company as an Improvement Engineer at its Upper Hutt manufacturing site. You will support a production team by leading complex problem‑solving initiatives, driving process improvements, and ensuring safe, compliant, and cost‑effective product supply.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the technical expert for the assigned production team, anticipating and resolving operational issues.
• Identify, champion, and implement improvements in process, quality, safety, and cost.
• Lead local, site‑wide, or global projects using project‑management and improvement tools.
• Analyse data to uncover opportunities and provide actionable insights.
• Create protocols, procedures, technical reports and own investigations, CAPAs, and safety/quality events.
• Train and coach colleagues on technical skills and system use, providing occasional frontline support.

Required profile

• Experience in sterile/aseptic manufacturing environments and GMP‑regulated settings.
• Technical background in (Bio)Technology, Microbiology, Chemistry or related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience with Clostridial antigen production; vaccine formulation, filling, and packaging is a plus.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and organisational abilities.
• Prior leadership experience influencing and coaching in a regulated biological or pharmaceutical environment.
