Hydro Power Station Maintainer (Cleaning & Maintenance)

About the role

We are looking for a Maintainer to join our team at the Mid Waitaki hydro power stations (Benmore, Aviemore and Waitaki). The role focuses on keeping the hydro facilities clean and well‑maintained, ensuring safe and efficient operation of our renewable energy assets.

Key responsibilities

• Perform general and industrial cleaning of plant, equipment and site areas.
• Maintain doors, gates, fences, signs and undertake vegetation control and water‑blasting tasks.
• Carry out basic plumbing, drainage and painting work as required.
• Work safely in confined spaces and at height, following all safety procedures.
• Document work activities using the maintenance management system.

Required profile

• Safety‑first attitude with a strong eye for detail.
• Experience in an industrial or commercial cleaning environment.
• Physically fit and comfortable working in restricted spaces and at height.
• Willingness to learn new skills and work both independently and as part of a team.
• Effective communication skills and basic computer literacy.
• Full clean New Zealand driver’s licence.

Required skills

• Use of commercial cleaning tools and outdoor equipment.
• Basic proficiency with email, documentation tracking and a maintenance management system.
