HR Business Partner

About the role

NZ Safety Blackwoods is seeking an experienced HR professional to join as an HR Business Partner. Reporting to the Head of People, Safety and Sustainability, you will partner with leaders across retail, supply chain, sales, marketing, finance and IT, supporting the full employee lifecycle in a fast‑moving, multi‑site B2B environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic HR partnership to a portfolio of business leaders, advising on employee relations, performance management, talent development and culture.
• Manage end‑to‑end employee lifecycle activities, including recruitment, onboarding, development, and off‑boarding.
• Interpret and apply New Zealand employment legislation to ensure compliance.
• Contribute to people projects and the broader transformation agenda.
• Influence and coach leaders to build high‑performing teams and resolve conflicts constructively.

Required profile

• Proven experience in HR business partnering or senior HR advisory roles.
• Strong relationship‑building skills with the ability to engage leaders and employees at all levels.
• Broad HR knowledge covering employee relations, performance, talent and culture.
• Sound understanding of New Zealand employment law.
• Relevant tertiary qualification and experience in a multi‑site organisation is desirable.
