HR Business Partner

About the role

We are seeking a pragmatic HR Business Partner to join our Auckland team. The role supports communities facing complex challenges and works closely with senior leaders to provide people‑focused solutions that align with our values and the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

Key responsibilities

• Act as a trusted HR advisor to the General Manager, offering practical expertise on employee relations, performance, engagement and development.
• Manage a varied employment relations caseload, including performance issues, conduct, conflict resolution and workplace investigations, ensuring compliance with legislation and best practice.
• Assess risk, explore options and make clear recommendations to support sound, people‑centred decision‑making.
• Build strong relationships across the organisation, influencing culture, equity, inclusion and employee experience initiatives.
• Support people practices grounded in Te Tiriti o Waitangi, equity, inclusion and Māori aspirations.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Business, Organisational Development or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and the organisation’s values of Manaakitanga, Atawhai, Rangapū, Mana Tika and Mana Ōrite.
• Experience advising senior leaders on complex people matters and navigating risk.
• Strong collaborative approach with the ability to influence and build relationships.
