HR Advisor – Generalist Role with Immediate Start

About the role

We are looking for a practical, hands‑on HR professional to join a lean, hard‑working team in New Zealand. This is a true generalist position where you will roll up your sleeves and provide everyday HR support to frontline teams, with an immediate start.

Key responsibilities

• Employee Relations & Disciplinary Management – guide leaders through performance issues, conduct disciplinary meetings and ensure legal compliance.
• End‑to‑End HR Generalist Support – implement policies, maintain HR databases, conduct file audits and contribute to the broader people strategy.
• Payroll Administration – manage a fortnightly payroll cycle, set up new employees and resolve payroll queries.
• Learning & Development – assist with employee inductions and track training records.
• HSE Collaboration – support health, safety and wellbeing initiatives, enter incident reports and manage ACC reconciliations.

Required profile

• 2+ years of experience as an HR Advisor or Senior HR Advisor, with direct exposure to disciplinary processes and payroll administration.
• Experience in fast‑paced, high‑volume environments, preferably supporting blue‑collar or field‑based workforces.
• Strong knowledge of current New Zealand employment legislation and the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015.
• Excellent communication, conflict‑resolution and time‑management abilities, with a high level of confidentiality and integrity.
