Housing Support Manager

About the role

Based in our Blenheim office, the Housing Support Manager will work directly with a portfolio of customers and their whānau across Blenheim and Nelson, helping them achieve stable housing and wellbeing. The role involves building lasting relationships, addressing housing needs, and supporting customers through changing circumstances.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of low‑ and medium‑need customers, providing tailored housing and wellbeing support.
• Visit customers in their Kāinga Ora homes and attend stakeholder meetings to ensure services remain appropriate.
• Handle disruptive behaviour situations and conduct courageous, solution‑focused conversations.
• Work on rent arrears, debt collection and recovery for tenants.
• Travel regularly between Blenheim, Nelson and the wider region using a company‑provided vehicle.

Required profile

• Strong relationship‑building skills with people from diverse backgrounds.
• Ability to de‑escalate emotional situations and hold difficult conversations.
• Comfortable working on rent arrears and debt recovery.
• Technical aptitude to learn new tools and systems quickly.
• Current full clean New Zealand driver’s licence.
