High Voltage Electrical Services Supervisor

About the role

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will lead the delivery of maintenance and minor project works across Transpower substations and associated high‑voltage assets in the lower North Island. This hands‑on supervisory position combines field presence with planning, scheduling and team leadership to ensure safe, efficient, and high‑quality outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise a team of 16‑17 electricians and field personnel.
• Coordinate maintenance and minor projects across high‑voltage network assets.
• Plan and schedule resources across multiple programmes and locations.
• Provide leadership, coaching and mentoring to field teams.
• Maintain health, safety, environmental and quality compliance.
• Conduct site visits, inspections and quality‑assurance activities.
• Drive process improvements and identify smarter ways of working.
• Monitor progress, track reporting requirements and ensure timely task completion.
• Support workforce capability development through technical guidance.
• Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• Current EWRB registration (essential).
• Extensive experience in high‑voltage electrical environments, preferably in substations, utilities or heavy‑electrical sectors.
• Proven supervisory or leadership experience.
• Excellent planning, scheduling and organisational abilities.
• Strong computer literacy and reporting capability.
• Commitment to safety leadership and quality outcomes.
• Proactive, organised and able to drive continuous‑improvement initiatives.
