Head of Showroom – Retail Management

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Head of Showroom to lead multiple product categories at our Mitre 10 MEGA store in Invercargill. The role combines hands‑on sales leadership with full managerial responsibility for the Kitchen & Bathroom, Plumbing, Storage & Flooring, Lighting and Paint departments.

Key responsibilities

• Drive sales performance and profitability across the assigned categories.
• Develop and coach team members to improve capability and customer service.
• Maintain store standards, health & safety, and visual merchandising.
• Participate in the Duty Manager roster, including one weekend day per week.
• Oversee employment relations, scheduling and inventory handling.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in sales and people leadership, preferably in big‑box or DIY retail.
• Previous role as Store Manager or Department/Assistant Manager in a similar environment.
• Strong communication skills and ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, customer‑focused setting.
• Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling tasks.
