Head of Sales – New Zealand

About the role

The client is a fast‑growing global fintech that provides modern banking and payments infrastructure. They are looking for a Head of Sales to build and lead their commercial presence in New Zealand, own the growth strategy and personally close high‑value enterprise deals.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a New Zealand commercial strategy with full accountability for revenue, pipeline and market expansion.
• Identify, engage and win strategic enterprise customers across banking, fintech, payments, digital commerce and regulated industries.
• Build trusted relationships with senior executives such as CEOs, CIOs, CTOs, Heads of Product, Payments and Innovation.
• Lead complex enterprise sales cycles from initial engagement through negotiation and contract execution.
• Establish strategic partnerships that accelerate market entry and customer acquisition.
• Represent the business as the senior commercial leader in New Zealand and provide market intelligence to regional leadership.
• Help scale the New Zealand commercial function as the organisation grows.

Required profile

• Proven experience selling Banking‑as‑a‑Service (BaaS), embedded finance or financial‑infrastructure solutions to banks, fintechs or regulated enterprises.
• Track record of originating, managing and closing complex enterprise sales involving C‑level stakeholders.
• Deep understanding of modern payments, digital banking and financial‑infrastructure ecosystems.
• Experience building new markets, opening strategic accounts and driving commercial growth with high autonomy.
• Existing relationships across the New Zealand banking, payments or fintech sectors are a strong advantage.
