Head of Risk Oversight – Technology, Cyber, Data, AI & Programme

About the role

ASB is seeking senior leaders to head three distinct but interconnected risk oversight functions across technology, cyber, data, AI, and programme delivery. These roles will shape how non‑financial risk is identified, managed and embedded throughout the bank’s modernisation agenda.

Key responsibilities

• Provide independent Line 2 oversight for the assigned risk domain (Technology & Cyber, Data/AI/Third‑Party, or Programme & Portfolio).
• Identify, assess, monitor and ensure risks stay within the bank’s risk appetite.
• Deliver clear, timely risk reporting to executive and board‑level stakeholders.
• Strengthen governance, monitoring and control frameworks across the domain.
• Embed a mature Three Lines of Accountability model and challenge decisions constructively.
• Build and lead high‑performing specialist teams.
• Partner with Business, Technology and Transformation groups to embed risk into strategy and delivery.

Required profile

• Deep experience in operational risk, compliance and regulatory environments within complex financial services.
• Domain expertise in either Technology & Cyber, Data/AI/Third‑Party & Resilience, or Programme delivery and change risk.
• Proven ability to operate in ambiguity, link risk to strategy and anticipate emerging risks.
• Track record of influencing senior leadership and board level.
• Strong leadership capability with experience building high‑performing teams.
