Head of Political Digital Strategy & Campaign Delivery

About the role

We are seeking a Head of Political Digital Strategy & Campaign Delivery to lead end‑to‑end digital campaigning for political, advocacy and public‑facing clients in New Zealand. The role combines strategic thinking, project management and hands‑on digital marketing to shape online messages, run paid media and respond to fast‑moving political issues.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, execute and oversee digital campaigns from briefing to delivery for multiple clients.
• Translate client objectives into clear digital plans, timelines and deliverables.
• Coordinate designers, content specialists, developers and external contractors to ensure on‑time creative and advertising production.
• Manage social‑media content calendars, scheduling and performance monitoring.
• Run and optimise paid advertising on Meta, Google and other platforms.
• Analyse campaign data and provide actionable recommendations.
• Provide strategic advice on online messaging, digital tactics and crisis response.
• Maintain client relationships and ensure expectations are met throughout the election cycle.

Required profile

• Proven experience in political or public‑sector digital campaigning.
• Strong judgement and ability to keep projects on track in a fast‑changing environment.
• Comfortable working under tight deadlines and shifting priorities.
• Excellent communication skills for client interaction and team coordination.
• Ready to hit the ground running during an election year.
