Group Accountant

About the role

Halter is scaling its agri‑technology business across New Zealand, the US, Australia and Canada. The Group Accountant will ensure the company’s multi‑entity finances remain accurate, compliant and ready for rapid expansion.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the audit process, coordinating with external auditors and managing audit requests.
• Research and draft technical accounting positions and supporting management papers.
• Monitor and meet accounting and tax filing deadlines for multiple jurisdictions.
• Support group‑level month‑end close, including inter‑company recharges and reconciliations.
• Analyse accounting and tax requirements in new markets as the business expands.
• Explore AI tools to improve the efficiency of group finance processes.
• Collaborate with finance operations, treasury, FP&A and finance systems teams.

Required profile

• At least 3 years of relevant experience and a newly qualified CA or equivalent.
• Strong technical knowledge of NZ IFRS and/or US GAAP.
• Experience with multinational consolidations and audit processes.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, high‑growth environment.
