Grader Operator

About the role

We are seeking an experienced grader operator to join our team working on the Waimakariri District Council road maintenance network. The role involves operating graders, performing maintenance grading, and ensuring that all work meets the required road construction methodology and specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Operate graders safely and efficiently on road maintenance projects.
• Perform maintenance grading to restore road surfaces to required standards.
• Follow standard specifications and road construction methodology.
• Maintain a high level of health and safety awareness on site.
• Report daily activities and equipment condition.
• Assist with routine equipment checks and basic maintenance.

Required profile

• Multi‑skilled in grader operation with proven experience.
• Physically fit and self‑motivated.
• Health and safety conscious with a positive attitude.
• Class 4 Driver Licence (Class 5 desirable).
• WTR endorsement.
• Willingness to obtain STMS L1 training (provided for the right candidate).
