About the role

We are looking for enthusiastic Glacier Explorers Guides to lead small‑passenger boat tours on Tasman Lake, offering guests unforgettable experiences among icebergs and the terminal face of New Zealand’s largest glacier. The role starts September 2024 and runs until June 2025.

Key responsibilities

• Drive and manoeuvre small passenger boats safely on Tasman Lake.
• Conduct informative and engaging excursions, sharing knowledge about the glacier, icebergs and surrounding environment.
• Manage guest groups, ensuring safety and delivering excellent customer service.
• Adapt to varying tour conditions and collaborate with the Hermitage Hotel team.

Required profile

• Valid NZ driver’s licence or entitlement to drive in New Zealand.
• Passion for the outdoors and willingness to learn.
• Strong sense of responsibility, reliability and flexibility to work across different tours.
• Excellent public‑speaking and communication abilities.

Required skills

• Class 2 and P endorsement (boat licence).
• First‑aid certification.
• Boating or water‑sports experience.
