General Practitioner – Student Health Services

About the role

We are seeking an experienced General Practitioner to join our student health service at the University of Auckland. You will deliver high‑quality, patient‑centred primary care to a diverse university community, working alongside doctors, nurses, counsellors and psychologists.

Key responsibilities

• Provide health assessment, diagnosis and treatment in line with best practice.
• Deliver patient‑centred care that supports physical and mental wellbeing.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to offer integrated care.
• Manage referrals, documentation, follow‑up care and case management.
• Support preventative health initiatives, including screenings, vaccinations and health education.
• Offer travel health advice and vaccinations as needed.
• Assess aegrotat applications and provide academic health advocacy.
• Build relationships with internal and external healthcare providers.

Required profile

• Compassionate clinician with experience working with young adults and diverse communities.
• Excellent clinical judgement and communication skills.
• Professional, calm approach to patient care.

• Permanent position with a salary range of $179,800–$211,500 per annum (prorated).
