General Practitioner / Nurse Practitioner (Full‑time or Part‑time)

About the role

Kaipara Medical Centre is seeking a General Practitioner, Nurse Practitioner, or GPEP2/GPEP3 to join its community‑focused primary health team in Helensville. The position can be full‑time or part‑time and involves delivering high‑quality primary care to a diverse local and rural population.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive general practice consultations, acute walk‑in care and chronic disease management.
• Collaborate with clinicians and support staff in multidisciplinary case discussions.
• Maintain accurate and thorough clinical documentation in the practice’s electronic medical record system.
• Participate in quality‑improvement projects, help shape practice protocols and contribute to service development.
• Support training, mentorship and supervision of junior staff, especially GPEP2/GPEP3 doctors.

Required profile

• Qualified General Practitioner, Nurse Practitioner, or GPEP2/GPEP3 doctor registered with the New Zealand Medical Council.
• Experience in primary‑care or community health settings.
• Commitment to patient‑centred, culturally safe care for individuals and whānau.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Willingness to engage in continuous professional development.

Required skills

• Clinical assessment and diagnosis.
• Treatment planning and prescribing.
• Proficient use of electronic medical records.
• Management of acute care walk‑in presentations.
• Understanding of New Zealand health system and rural health challenges.
