General Manager – Logistics

About the role

SeaLink is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead its Logistics division, overseeing end‑to‑end freight services for the Hauraki Gulf islands. Reporting to the CEO and sitting on the Senior Leadership Team, you will be based in East Tamaki and responsible for safety, performance and commercial success.

Key responsibilities

• Provide clear leadership and strategic direction for SeaLink Logistics.
• Develop and execute business plans aligned with SeaLink’s strategy and values.
• Own full P&L accountability, driving revenue growth, cost control, margins and asset utilisation.
• Lead safe, reliable and efficient logistics operations across multiple sites.
• Build and sustain a high‑performing, values‑led team in a safety‑critical environment.
• Drive continuous improvement across systems, processes, technology and service delivery.
• Manage customer relationships, including key accounts, pricing, contracts and new business development.
• Collaborate with the wider SeaLink leadership team to deliver enterprise‑wide strategy, sustainability and business continuity outcomes.

Required profile

• 10+ years’ experience in logistics, freight, transport or supply chain, with at least 6 years in senior leadership and P&L ownership.
• Tertiary qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, Transport Management or equivalent operational leadership experience.
• Proven ability to lead teams in high‑risk, compliance‑driven environments.
• Strong financial, commercial and asset management capability.
• Collaborative, values‑driven leadership style.
• Sound understanding of NZ health and safety, transport and employment legislation.
• Ability to balance hands‑on operational leadership with strategic thinking and growth planning.
• Willingness to travel across different sites and locations.
